Anniversary Issue

May 15, 2007

LOOKING BACK….
This issue marks the first anniversary of Natural Champion
magazine. What started as a proverbial ‘labor of love’
that – quite candidly – we weren’t sure would make it past
one issue has grown from an embryonic beginning of less
than ten pages to what we’re told is the largest magazine
devoted to drug free fitness and athletics on the entire
internet.

On the cover of the May, 2006 issue we stated the
following:

“We want to welcome you to the Premier Issue of Natural
Champion, the online magazine devoted to developing drug
free champions.

Our mission at Natural Champion is to promote physical
excellence without the use of harmful and illegal
performance enhancing drugs. Each month we’ll provide
information – and hopefully, inspiration, to help you
develop the very highest standards of peak physical
performance and vibrant, life-long health.”

And at the bottom of the page we signed off with…”We invite
you to join us on our journey.”

In ways it’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed
since we fired up the computer and saw the that first cover
with the Natural Champion logo and the words “The Natural
Champion…Premier Issue” set in red against a black
background, with a photo of Charles Hawkins, drug free Mr.
Universe, punctuating the page.

The journey has been by turns trying and exhilarating, far
more work than we anticipated and far more rewarding than
we ever imagined. Along the way we have made some
wonderful new friends and re-connected with some wonderful
‘old’ friends. We are grateful to have made it this far,
and grateful to you, our loyal readers, for joining us on
the journey.

Because Natural Champion magazine is still relatively new
to the internet and because a lot of our readers are still
new to Natural Champion and have not read the earlier
issues, we’d like to look back over the past year and
review some of the columns and the personalities that
inspired us and instructed us. We invite you to read anew
or re-read and to contact us and let us know what you think
about past articles and columns and what you’d like to see
in future issues.

And now for the year in review…
